Please be advised: All Class "G" license officers must have a valid Florida class "D" License. "G" License applicants must either already possess a Florida Class"D" License, or must be in the process of applying for the Florida "D" License with the state at the same time which they are taking the "G" License Class with our school.

Your certificate will be be ready for you at the end of the class -- there is no need to come back to pick it up at a later day!

Class is conducted in 3 Days: Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday 9:30 AM - 6:30 PM

As required by Florida Chapter 493, Class “G” licensed armed security officers need to complete 28 hours of classroom and range training by a licensed Class “K” licensed instructor.

Our "G" License Classes includes everything required by the State of Florida for Class “G” license applicants such as:

• Gun Laws and Florida Statutes 493,775,776,790 • •Use of Force

• Legal Issues

• Gun Safety

• Firearms Mechanics (Semi-Automatic and Revolvers)

• Fundamentals of Marksmanship

• Weapons Handling

• Weapons Retention

• Live Fire Marksmanship Training

• State of Florida Firearms Qualification

Students that pass the Florida exam and range qualification will be given proof of completion, so that they can apply for the Class “G” license with the Florida Department of Agriculture Division of Licensing.

Annual recertification is required and therefore, all students who take and pass the "G" License Course must return yearly for their annual "G " License Requalification Class in efforts to retain their license.

Firearms & Equipment

This Florida "G" class requires students use of a .38 revolver, .357 revolver, or 9mm semi-automatic pistol. Students may use their own firearm. Firearms or live ammunition are NOT to be brought to the classroom. If you do not have your own firearm may rent one from us if needed.

Bring a minimum of 144 rounds of ammunition.

The State of Florida requires that all Florida License G" Armed Security Officers requalify at least once per year with the type of handgun that they carry on duty. We provide annual Class "G" requalification firearms training.

Students that successfully requalify will be given proof of requalification to provide to the State to maintain their Class "G" license

Florida Chapter 493

Florida Security officer training and Florida Security Licensing is regulated under Florida State Statute Chapter 493. visit the Florida Department of Agriculture web site for additional information regarding licensing procedures to become a Florida Security Guard, unarmed security officer or armed security officer.
